Delightful Nectarine Jam

A homemade nectarine jam recipe that captures the essence of summer with its sweet and vibrant flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds nectarines, pitted and chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 package fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit by washing the nectarines thoroughly and chopping them into small pieces, discarding the pits.
  2. Mix ingredients by combining the chopped nectarines, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pot, letting it sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Adding the pectin by sprinkling it evenly over the fruit mixture, stirring thoroughly, and cooking until it reaches a rolling boil.
  4. Boil for 1-2 minutes while stirring continuously, testing the consistency with the “plate test.”
  5. Jar the mixture by ladling it into sterilized jars, leaving about a 1/4-inch headspace, sealing with lids.
  6. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 5-10 minutes to ensure a proper seal.
  7. Cool the jars completely on a clean towel or cooling rack before storing in a cool, dark place.

Notes

For added flavors, consider variations like spiced nectarine jam with cinnamon or ginger nectarine jam for a spicy kick.
