Nectarine Crumb Tart

A delightful dessert featuring juicy nectarines topped with a crunchy, buttery crumb topping, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 4 ripe nectarines, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch tart pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Combine the flour, both sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Slice the nectarines into thin wedges.
  6. Pat half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared tart pan.
  7. Layer the sliced nectarines evenly over the crumb base.
  8. Pour the remaining crumb mixture over the nectarines.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes, slice, and serve with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use almond flour or a gluten-free blend. Experiment with different fruits and spices to find your favorite combination.
