Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

A flavorful and comforting pasta salad with bacon, cheese, and a creamy ranch dressing, perfect for barbecues and picnics.

  • 12 ounces tri-color rotini pasta
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 ounce dry ranch dressing mix
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 4.25-ounce can sliced black olives, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tri-color rotini and cook according to the package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
  2. Drain and rinse: Once the pasta is cooked, drain and rinse it under cold water to cool it down.
  3. Prepare the dressing: In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and dry ranch dressing mix. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the ingredients: Toss the cooled pasta with the dressing, chopped bacon, diced tomato, sliced olives, and shredded cheddar cheese. Fold gently to coat.
  5. Taste and adjust: Check for seasoning and add salt, pepper, or olive oil if needed.
  6. Chill out: Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld the flavors.
  7. Serve: Stir before serving and garnish with additional bacon bits or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

This pasta salad can be made a day in advance for best flavor. Use any pasta shape you prefer!
