Baked Apple Fritter Bites

Delightful baked apple fritter bites filled with tender apples and spice, perfect for cozy mornings.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced Honeycrisp or Gala apples
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple cider or juice
  • 2 tbsp apple cider or juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  3. Melt the butter and mix in the sugar, then add the egg, vanilla, and applesauce until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix until just combined; fold in the diced apples.
  5. Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out, and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Mix the powdered sugar and apple cider in a small bowl to create the glaze.
  7. Cool the fritters slightly, then drizzle with glaze and serve warm.

Notes

These fritters are best enjoyed warm. You can store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
