Crispy Savors are golden bites that deliver a satisfying crunch with savory flavors, perfect as an appetizer, side dish, or snack.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Add the Water: Slowly pour in the water, mixing continuously until getting a smooth batter.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a skillet, add enough oil to reach about 3 inches depth and heat until around 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the Bites: Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Drain and Cool: Once golden brown, remove the bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs, cheese, or spices to the batter. Serve with various dipping sauces.
