The Perfect BLT Sandwich

A classic BLT sandwich showcasing crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and hearty bread, united by creamy mayonnaise.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • 2 leaves of crisp Romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
  • 2 slices of whole grain or sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: Place bacon in a cold skillet, turn the heat to medium, and cook for 5-7 minutes until crispy, flipping once.
  2. Prep your bread: Toast the bread until golden brown.
  3. Slice the tomato: Cut the tomato into thick rounds and sprinkle with salt.
  4. Assemble the sandwich: Spread mayonnaise on both slices of bread and layer with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
  5. Cut and serve: Slice the sandwich diagonally and serve with chips or salad.

Notes

To prevent sogginess, toast the bread and consider a thin layer of mayo as a moisture barrier.
