Classic Apple Pie

A delightful classic dish filled with sweet, tender apples and warm cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 pie crusts
  • 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare your pie crusts.
  3. Toss together sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
  4. Place one pie crust in your pie dish and fill it with the apple mixture.
  5. Vent the top crust with small slits.
  6. Brush the crust with egg wash and sprinkle sugar if desired.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes.
  8. Let the pie cool for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This pie can be made a day in advance for even better flavor.
