Apple Trifle

A delightful layered dessert that brings together spiced apples, creamy pudding, and moist pound cake for a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baked pound cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 apples, diced (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 package vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pound Cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and pour your batter in. Bake it for about 60–70 minutes until golden brown, and a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely before slicing.
  2. Dice the Apples: While your cake cools, peel and dice your apples into small pieces. Toss them in a bowl with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. Prepare the Pudding: In a mixing bowl, combine the vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of milk. Whisk it together until it thickens—about 2 minutes. Chill it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  4. Whip the Topping: If you’re using whipped topping, give it a quick stir to loosen it up. If you’re using Greek yogurt, stir it with a spoonful of honey for sweetness.
  5. Layer the Trifle: In a large glass bowl or individual dessert cups, start layering with pound cake, diced apples, vanilla pudding, and whipped topping. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
  6. Chill and Serve: Cover with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Notes

You can make this ahead of time! It tastes even better the longer it sits.
