Apple Pie Bars

Warm, spiced apple filling in a buttery, crumbly crust, baked to perfection and cut into delightful squares.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 apples, diced (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  4. Cut the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Add the eggs and mix until just combined.
  6. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  7. Prepare the filling by mixing diced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Layer the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  9. Crumble the remaining dough on top of the apples.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
