Apple Crumb Pie

  • 6 cups sliced apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine sliced apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface and crimp the edges.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust and spread it evenly.
  5. In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cold butter until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apple filling.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until apples are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  8. Cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
