  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by tossing them with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Make the topping by mixing flour, baking powder, and salt, then combining with wet ingredients.
  4. Assemble by pouring the apple mixture into a greased baking dish and dolloping the topping over it.
  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
