Apple Cobbler

A nostalgic and comforting apple cobbler that combines sweet and tart apples with a buttery topping.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by slicing them thinly and tossing with half of the sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon until well blended.
  4. Add in the milk and melted butter to the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Combine the apple mixture gently into the batter.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For extra decadence, top the cobbler with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
