  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick (½ cup) salted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Extra red, white, and blue sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Combine the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, folding in the patriotic sprinkles.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
  8. Make the cream cheese frosting by beating together butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  9. Frost the cooled bars and decorate with extra sprinkles.
  10. Slice into squares and serve.
