Sweet and Fluffy Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

Delicious cinnamon rolls infused with fresh strawberries for a delightful breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by warming milk until lukewarm.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients to create dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 1 hour.
  6. Prepare the filling by chopping strawberries and mixing with sugar.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
  8. Add filling: spread softened butter, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar, and add strawberries.
  9. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
  10. Final rise in a greased baking dish for about 30 minutes.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  12. Make icing by whisking powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  13. Glaze rolls with icing while still warm.
