Quick Greek Yogurt Chocolate Mousse

A creamy and indulgent chocolate mousse made lighter with Greek yogurt, perfect for satisfying cravings guilt-free.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dark chocolate chips)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: Start by gently melting the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. You can do this in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring after each interval, or use a double boiler on the stovetop. Be patient—once the chocolate is shiny and smooth, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Mix the yogurt: In another bowl, combine your Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and pinch of salt. Use a whisk or spoon to blend everything together until you achieve a creamy, smooth consistency.
  3. Combine the chocolate and yogurt: Gradually fold the melted chocolate into the yogurt mixture. Use a spatula and be gentle; we want that airiness to shine through.
  4. Chill the mousse: Transfer it into serving dishes or glasses. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Once your mousse has chilled and set, it’s time to dig in! You can top it with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add almond or hazelnut butter to the yogurt mixture. Try different flavored yogurts or fruits to customize the mousse.
