Decadent Mississippi Mud Pie

A rich and gooey chocolate dessert with a buttery crust, topped with whipped cream. Perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs with the melted butter in a bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Press this mixture into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes until set.
  5. Whisk together the granulated and brown sugars, then add the eggs one by one.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
  7. Melt chocolate chips until smooth and add them to the egg mixture.
  8. Pour the mixture into the cooled crust and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until the edges are set.
  10. Cool completely at room temperature and then refrigerate for at least two hours.
  11. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and spread it over the top of the chilled pie before serving.

Notes

This pie can be made a day in advance and tastes even better after sitting in the fridge for a while.
