Korean Ground Beef Bowl

A quick and easy Korean ground beef bowl that’s bursting with flavor and perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, or carrots)
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Start by getting everything ready before cooking. Mince the garlic and ginger and chop your vegetables.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Use a wooden spoon to break it up as it cooks until nicely browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add aromatics: Once the beef is browned, toss in the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Flavor it up: Pour in the soy sauce and sprinkle the brown sugar over the beef mixture. Stir well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the veggies: Stir-fry your chopped vegetables for about 4-5 minutes until they’re tender but still crisp.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil: Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the sesame oil over the mixture.
  7. Serve over rice: In a bowl, spoon a generous helping of cooked rice and top it with the beef and veggie mixture.
  8. Garnish: Sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds over the top.

Notes

Feel free to add a tablespoon of gochujang for a spicy kick or substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
