Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites

A guilt-free version of classic churros, these Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, offering a deliciously sweet treat without the extra oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • Cooking spray
  • Cinnamon sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Combine the applesauce, almond milk, and sugar in another bowl.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Shape the dough into small balls or logs and place on parchment paper.
  6. Spray churro bites with cooking spray and place in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Roll the bites in the cinnamon sugar mix immediately after frying.
  9. Serve warm with a dipping sauce if desired.
