Decadent Creamy Steak Pasta

A creamy, dreamy steak pasta recipe that brings comfort and joy to the dinner table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin or strip steak), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz (280g) pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil the water in a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove and place on a plate.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat and melt the butter. Sauté the onion and garlic for about 3-4 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and optional red pepper flakes.
  4. Combine Everything: Return the steak to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Toss in the cooked pasta, stirring gently to coat. Add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Plate the creamy steak pasta and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or basil.

Notes
