Crispy Air Fryer Churro Bites

Delightful and easy-to-make bite-sized churros that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare your dough: In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Heat over medium until the butter fully melts. Stir in the vanilla extract. Once combined, bring this mixture to a gentle boil.
  2. Add dry ingredients: Remove the pan from heat and quickly stir in the salt, flour, and baking powder. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Let it cool: Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Shape the churro bites: Fill a small zip-top bag or piping bag with churro dough, cut a small hole, and pipe out small bite-sized pieces onto a parchment-lined plate.
  5. Spray the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry the bites: Place about 6-8 churro bites in the basket, spray the tops lightly, and air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Coat in cinnamon sugar: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and toss the warm churro bites to coat.
  8. Serve warm: Enjoy fresh with a drizzle of melted chocolate or whipped cream.
