Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Nutella

A warm, gooey cookie baked right in a skillet, featuring melting chocolate chips and a decadent drizzle of Nutella.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Prepare a 10-inch cast iron skillet by greasing it lightly.
  8. Swirl spoonfuls of Nutella into the cookie dough but don’t overmix.
  9. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown around the edges.
  10. Add flaky sea salt on top after removing from the oven.
  11. Cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. You can also switch the egg for a flax egg for a vegan version.
