Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breasts (2 pieces)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp red chili pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp cold butter
  • Garnish with chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces (around 1-inch). Season with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Coat with cornstarch and toss until evenly coated.
  3. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Get brown and crispy by searing the chicken pieces for about 4–5 minutes on one side and flipping to cook for an additional 3–4 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and chili flakes (if using), sauté for about 30 seconds.
  6. Create the glaze by whisking together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and water in a bowl; pour into the pan, stirring gently.
  7. Finish with butter off the heat for a smooth sauce.
  8. Serve garnished with chopped chives.
